100 Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games (Taken From an Original Genesis)
This is a vid of 100 Sega Genesis games as played on an original Sega Genesis, and recorded with a video capture card. There are already a number of these vids up, but not many of them that I've seen use the actual system. Most are running roms. BTW, there will be no rom begging or link providing on my vids. I play the real thing, and for the cheap cost of most of these you can too. don't give me that bulls*t about them being too expensive. I'm not rich, and yet I can afford it. Most of these are from my own personal collection, but some of them are from a few recent Ebay lots that I've purchased with intent to split up and sell, so I can't get too attached to them all. The first song is the America theme from Double Dragon 3: The Arcade Game. It's a so so game, but I've always really liked that theme. The second song is called R.A.V.E., and it's from Contra: Hard Corps. Awesome game. Hard, but awesome. Songs three and four are from Combat Cars. I haven't really played much of that one, but the soundtrack is rocking. Song Five is the ending theme from Sonic 2. Sorry to cut it off short, but I wanted to get the final song in there. Song six is the ending theme from Streets of Rage 2. It's not action packed, but I wanted to end it with a more nostalgic feel. A song that kind of sends you into a reflection. Sorry if you don't like my song choices, it's really hard to choose even a hundred songs to sum up an entire system, let alone a mere six of them. Also, some of the transitions are a little rough. I've been working on them. NOTE: I have no idea why the sound cuts out for Ranger X. I guess that game is just too bada** for music. NOTE number 2: I've noticed that I put a lot of fighting games in this vid. I tried to have as much variety as I could to even it out, but remember, the 16-bit days were the days when fighting games were huge. I wish I owned more Genesis Shmups though. Here is a list of the games: Adventures of Batman and Robin, The Aladdin Alisia Dragoon Altered Beast Ballz Batman Returns Battletoads/Double Dragon Beyond Oasis Bio Hazard Battle Bubsy II Castlevania Bloodlines Columns Combat Cars Comix Zone Contra: Hard Corps Death and Return of Superman, The Demolition Man Desert Strike Dinosaurs for Hire Double Dragon III: The Arcade Game Dynamite Headdy Ecco the Dolphin Eternal Champions Exile F-22 Interceptor Fatal Fury Flashback: The Quest for Identity Gargoyles General Chaos Golden Axe Golden Axe II Gunstar Heroes Jungle Book, The Jungle Strike Jurassic Park Kid Chameleon King of The monsters 2 Landstalker Last Battle Lethal Enforcers Lethal Enforcers II: Gun Fighters McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure Mega Turrican Mercs Might and Magic: Gates to Another World Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The movie Mortal Kombat Mortal Kombat 2 Mortal Kombat 3 Mutant League Football Mystic Defender NBA Jam: Tournament Edition Out of this World Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom Phantasy Star IV Pirates Gold Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure Primal Rage Ranger X Red Zone Ren & Stimpy Show Presents: Stimpy's Invention, The Revenge of Shinobi Road Rash II Rocket Knight Adventures Saturday Night Slam Masters Shadow Dancer Shaq-Fu Shining Force Shining Force II Shinobi III Skitchin' Sonic & Knuckles Sonic 3D Blast Sonic Spinball Sonic the Hedgehog Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Spider Man Splatterhouse 3 Street Fighter II: Special Championship Edition Streets of Rage Streets of Rage 2 Streets of Rage 3 Strider Subterrania Super Hang-On Syd of Valis Tecmo Super Bowl Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters Thunder Force II Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster's Hidden Treasure ToeJam & Earl: Panic on Funkotron Toy Story Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Vectorman 2 View Point WWF Royal Rumble X-Men 2: Clone Wars Zero Tolerance

Classic Game Room HD - ROAD RASH II for Sega Genesis review
Classic Game Room HD reviews ROAD RASH II for Sega Genesis / Sega Mega Drive from 1992. One of the best games for the Sega Genesis, Road Rash 2 is a motorcycle racing game with "Road Warrior" style violence! Win races with speed and skill or beat your opponents into a bloody pulp with chains and clubs. Road Rash 2 was published by Electronic Arts for the Mega Drive / Genny and packs several lengthy courses, amazing challenge, relatively smooth gameplay and serious action. A must play for arcade style bike racers like Hang On, Road Rash II steps up the mayhem and still delivers an excellent driving game. Road Rash 2 has cheat codes and save codes to save your game, unlock new bikes and continue. This CGR review of Road Rash II has gameplay from Road Rash 2 for Sega Genesis showing Road Rash game play in action.

Every Game in Sega Genesis Classics! | Gameplay and Mini Reviews | Shotana Studios
So, I just got the recently released Sega Genesis Classics Collection for the PS4. And I wanted to go through and choose my favorites from the list, since the game allows you to make a personal selection. Now I am by no means a Genesis guru, in fact I am a bit of a noob, so a lot of these games, I will be playing for the very first time. So enjoy this look at what makes my list of my first impression faves in this compilation. I wouldn't count this as an overall review, but more like a mini review of all the games and first impressions of everything from the graphics, to the music, to the gameplay. This was originally livestreamed off a PS4 Pro, in 60 FPS. Overall Games List: Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle Alien Soldier Alien Storm Altered Beast Beyond Oasis Bio-Hazard Battle Bonanza Bros. The Launch of the Sega Genesis (1989)
Episode 44 - The launch of the Sega Genesis in 1989. Sega first entered the home console market in 1983 with the SG-1000, which was released in Asia, Australia, and some parts of Europe. In 1985, the hardware was upgraded and a new system, the Mark III was released. This would become the "Sega Master System" around the world, and although it was only really successful in Europe and Brazil, it blazed the trail for Sega's next system, the 16-bit Mega Drive. The Mega Drive, designed around the Motorola 68000 CPU (previously used in Sega's "System 16" arcade hardware" was released in Japan in November of 1988, and was brought over to North America as the "Genesis" less than a year later. Launching on August 14, 1989, the system came bundled with Altered Beast, and 5 additional games were available on day 1: Space Harrier II, Last Battle, Super Thunder Blade, Tommy Lasorda Baseball, and Thunder Force II. Initially Sega was competing with NEC's TurboGrafx-16, launched just a week after the Genesis. But Sega's superior hardware and marketing caused the Turbografx to quickly lose ground. For 2 years, the Genesis was the only 16-bit home console on the market, until the Super Nintendo was released in the late summer of 1991. This kicked off the infamous "16-bit Console War", which was a back-and-forth affair, with Sega at one point outselling Nintendo, but ultimately aged hardware and poor decisions by Sega of Japan led to Nintendo ultimately winning out. The Genesis was succeeded by the Sega Saturn in 1995, and the Dreamcast in 1999. The former was not a success in North America but was Sega's best-selling system at home. The Dreamcast was an excellent arcade-at-home system that also had a number of excellent home-exclusive titles, but was ultimately Sega's final entry in the hardware market. The Genesis was Sega's most iconic and successful console worldwide. Show Notes: - Much of this show was produced in tandem with the Sega Master System launch episode. - The original "Launch of the Sega Genesis" episode was published on May 4, 2014, and was retired with almost 120,000 views. That video had comparatively low production value due to its age, which is why it was replaced. - The System-16 board pictured in this episode is Golden Axe, and was the board used in the "History of Golden Axe" episode. - All arcade footage used in this episode was generated using emulation. All home console footage was captured from actual hardware. - The bulk of this episode was produced during a 5-day stretch in which I was working on it up to 16 hours per day. - I found not one but two ways to sneak references to Ayrton Senna into this episode. Classic Game Room HD - AFTER BURNER II for Sega Genesis
Classic Game Room HD reviews AFTER BURNER II for Sega Genesis / Mega Drive! Released in 1990 this is one of the best games on the Sega Genesis and created by master game designer Yu Suzuki, who previously designed Out Run and Hang On! This CGRHD review of After Burner II has gameplay footage recorded from After Burner 2 showing Afterburner 2 game play of the F-14 fighter jet blowing away waves of enemy jets and helicopters (even though the Afterburner II game cartridge shows an F-15 Eagle instead of an F-14 Tomcat.) Do you like Top Gun on the NES? This game puts it to shame. Yu Suzuki's arcade masterpiece from 1987 makes an explosive appearance on the Genesis with smooth, colorful gameplay and excellent controls. The music is some of the best music ever heard on the Genesis and this entire cartridge of awesomeness can be had for a few bucks today providing years of enjoyment. If you like arcade style flight combat games then you will LOVE After Burner II from Sega for the Genesis and Megadrive. Classic Game Room HD reviews Sega arcade games on Genesis like Afterburner 2 because CGRHD is a Sega Genesis reviewer reviewing classics and old school games on the Megadrive.

AT Games Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Flashback HD | Nostalgia Nerd
Given I've covered the Fei Hao Chinese Mega Drive clone, I thought it was only fair to cover what passes as an officially licenced release, in the world of Sega; The AT Games Sega Genesis Flashback HD / AT Games Sega Mega Drive Flashback HD. Now this little machine has received some bad press. It's often touted as the Mega Drive Mini or HD Genesis; essentially Sega's answer to the SNES Classic Mini. Sega Genesis Games to Collect Part 1
Years ago I pulled out some of the Sega Genesis Library that I recommend to collect. This is part one of two videos covering a fraction of the library. These are games to showcase to folks who may wonder what great games the Sega Genesis had on its library. In no way is this a comprehensive list. I made a mistake talking about Shadowrun being on PC(back in the day)which it was not from what I have gathered.

CGRundertow SPACE HARRIER II for Sega Genesis Video Game Review
Space Harrier II Review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Space Harrier II, developed and published by Sega for the Genesis. Funny things are happening four thousand years from now. Calls from help are coming from the 214th sector, and space badass extrodinaire Harrier is there to hear it. He sets off into the ever-expanding checkerboard world of Fantasy Land to discover that the place is overrun with bad guys. It's Space Harrier II, known for its release as a Sega Mega Drive launch title in the Land of the Rising Sun and for its early venture into the world of video game sound with Tokuhiko Uwabo at the helm. This video review features video gameplay footage of Space Harrier II and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Eric. Top 50 of the best Sega Genesis 2 player Co-op games
The Sega Mega drive/ Genesis arguably has a better library of 2p simultaneous/multiplayer couch co-op games than the SNES, and here we take a look at 50 of the greatest. Rules for making the games list are: PAL/NA games only, no Jap Megadrive exclusives (GA 3) / no Kor/Rus exclusives/ homebrews. No Sports games, they're a whole different kettle of fish. No lightgun games, not good for emulating and not much chance of you and a friend having the blue & pink justifiers. Must be simultaneous ,no tag team (WWF) or taking in turns. No Sonic 2 ,Tails is useless,a dreadful co-op game but brilliant 1 player ofcourse ! These are not listed in any particular order (too difficult to judge) but for what it's worth SOR2 would be my number 1 choice and had many hours of fun on SOR and Golden axe 1 & 2 too. *Spoiler - games in order of appearance* Toejam and Earl ,Battle toads Double Dragon, Streets of Rage, Sunset riders, Vapor trail, Bonanza Bros., Alien storm, Skeleton krew, Forgotten worlds, Captain America and the avengers, Adventures of Batman and Robin, Gain ground, Cadash, Snake rattle and roll, Bio Hazard battle, Contra Hard corps/ Probotector ,Cyborg Justice, Golden axe 2 ,Ren and Stimpy, Altered beast, Wonderboy 3, Lost Vikings, Streets of rage 3, Second samurai, Joe and Mac, Air buster, Crack down, Double Dragon, General chaos, Punisher, Pit fighter, Beavis and Butt head, Two crude dudes, Zoom, Blades of vengeance, Chaos engine, Toejam and Earl 2 panic on funkotron, X-men 2,Great circus mystery - Mickey and Minnie, Zombies , Teenage mutant ninja turtles Hyper stone heist, Gunstar heroes , WWf Raw ,Doom troopers , World of illusion - Mickey and Donald , Arcus Odyssey, Rolling thunder 2, Golden axe, Gauntlet 4 ,Streets of rage 2.

Classic Game Room - CHASE H.Q. II for Sega Genesis review
Classic Game Room reviews CHASE H.Q. II for Sega Genesis from Taito, based on the 1988 arcade machine. This racing / combat game is like Outrun mixed with Road Rash where you play a two stage game that requires you to catch up to bad guys and then crash into them until their car catches on fire! Excellent arcade style gameplay is marred by a somewhat sloppy and jerky presentation on the capable Sega Genesis, yet driving game fans should still check this one out. Chase HQ 2 is the Sega Mega Drive / Sega Genesis version of Chase HQ with three playable vehicles and chunky 16-bit graphics. Controls work well but the arcade machine is the best version of this game to play. Chase HQ is also available for Sega Master System, SNES, Turbografx-16 and Commodore 64. This CGR review of Taito's Chase HQ II has gameplay from Chase H.Q. 2 showing Chase HQ 2 game play in HD from Sega Genesis.

Top 10 Sega Mega Drive / Genesis Fighting Games! - Kimble Justice
A countdown of the top 10 fighting games for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis - with the exception of Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and most other Arcade ports. All original, baby!...mostly. The venerable Mega Drive was great at a lot of things...fighting games, generally speaking, wasn't one of them. In fact, quite a lot of the system's fighting games were utterly abysmal! However, there were definitely a few diamonds in the rough that you couldn't get anywhere else - and this list is going to help bring them out! Just to be sure we get absolutely all of them, there's no big arcade ports either - the list could have been filled up with Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat and SNK...but that wouldn't be any fun, would it? AtGames Sega Genesis Ultimate Portable Game Player Impressions
The Sega Genesis was my console of choice through my college years, so while I can't say I "jumped at the chance" to buy AtGames' Genesis Portable (since it's been available for several years), I did finally pick one up once they dropped to $30. What follows is my completely uninformed impressions of the system, from a Sega fan that did absolutely no internet research before purchasing one. (Intentionally! Hey, it's an experiment.) This is what a non-biased review looks like. Buy one of these on Amazon! http://amzn.to/2lC2yos Subscribe to my channel: http://www.youtube.com/c/ModernClassic?sub_confirmation=1 Support me on Patreon!: http://www.patreon.com/modernclassic Follow me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/modernclassicchannel/ And on Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/modernclassicyt Btw, NP60-2 batteries are actually fairly common, I've discovered, however finding one *small* enough may be an issue. This device uses a 750mAh battery, whereas the lowest capacity (and therefore physically thinnest) NP60-2 I've found online has been 1050mAh. So I'd still be curious to hear about batteries that could work as a drop-in replacement, and fit inside the handheld without bulging the battery door.

30 games better on SNES than Sega Genesis
30 times the Super Nintendo beat the Sega Megadrive /Genesis. Sega vs Nintendo, the 16 bit console war. It's lasted longer than WWII and Nam put together and shows no signs of ending. 25 + years of arguments about most Mhz speed, fastest processors, more powerful sound chips, yamaha synths, most colours on screen, mode 7,most sprites and layers, game slowdown, character flickering, display resolutions, blast processing, blood and gore, extra characters, extra levels, more responsive controls and any other thing that might give your console the edge over your friends turned bitter enemies...Here's to the next quarter of a century and more. This video inspired by Bransfield, got me thinking and to be fair to the Megadrive/Genesis it was harder than people give credit for. Some games are better in my own personal opinion and on others I've used common opinion and YT channels such as VCDECIDE, Console wars, Gaming Palooza Empire and Silenig which does great longplay comparisons. I've not included any sports games, are there any better on the SNES anyway? For each game the Sega Gen/MD version plays first then the SNES version, the logos will give it away. Just because the SNES version is better IMO in no way does it mean that the MD/Gen version is a bad game. I cut off Super off road by accident and couldn't be bothered to go back and fix it. I think it's the Sega title screen and SNES gameplay footage. I'll probably give an explanation for why I thought the SNES version is better on each game as time goes on ( when I can be bothered). Yes some games have the same title but are completely different games and some games slightly different titles but roughly based on each other/released at the same time. I find games which are totally different to each other are the most interesting and probably easiest to compare. On some games it comes down to small margins like music, sound fx ,slight graphical differences or extra characters/levels. Have I missed any games out?
